Project Description
St. Augustino Primary School Kitohwa is one of the few study centers on the islands of Africa’s second deepest lake (Lake Bunyonyi) located 410km away from the Ugandan capital, Kampala. Through this project, a team of IEEE volunteers worked to install a solar power system at the school, and also equipped it with a desktop and printer set.

Initial Impact
The 200 students that attend the school have benefited from a stable source of electricity that has allowed for well-lit and well-ventilated classrooms to create a more comfortable learning environment. Additionally, more than 60 community members (non-students) have benefited from the printer, which has been especially helpful to the community because it is the only one serving the island.
