Engineering with Purpose
Engineers and technical professionals have a unique ability to shape the future and create sustainable solutions for the world’s most pressing challenges. IEEE HT, through its Tech4Good program, provides funding for grassroots IEEE member projects that implement technological solutions to these sustainable development challenges.
There is a broad range of challenges in the local communities where IEEE members live worldwide. The starting point for a project is always the needs of the community determined together with local organizations and leaders. Projects focus on people first, rather than starting with a particular technology that needs to find a use. Teams ensure that their solution contributes to one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
